Transportation Planner

Position is responsible for managing the transportation planning program to include the Auburn-Opelika Metropolitan Planning Organization and Regional Rural Planning Organization.  Develops/maintains transportation plans, reports, and studies such as Unified Work Planning Program, Transportation Improvement Program, Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan and Long Range Transportation Plan.   Maintains/enhances the Geographic Information System (GIS) System by providing all mapping and GIS support for the agency.   Must be able to communicate results of work with technical staff, public officials, and the general public in written and oral forms.   Performs other related tasks in support of agency’s programs.
